" Wonder Woman 1984 " Review . Gal Gadot Shines .

" Wonder Woman 1984"  is a 2020 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman.

It is the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman and the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she wrote with Geoff Johns and  Dave Callaham, based on a story by Johns and Jenkins. Gal Gadot stars as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, alongside Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen.

The chemistry between Diana and Steve though was as heartwarming as it was in the first movie and had some funny turns as it embraces the lunacy of the 1980's. I'd say the thing that surprised me the most is how Barbara Minerva and Diana really got to know each other before their relationship went south unlike in the animated iterations with Cheetah.

Despite my issues, as a fan of these characters, I would say although it's narrative and logic is highly questionable, the actors really do get their comic book counterparts right thus making it a worthy inclusion in the #dceu
